Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creative Vision and Direction:
    • Interpret scripts and concepts to create a visually compelling broadcast.
    • Develop and communicate the creative vision for the program to the production team.
    • Direct talent, including presenters, actors, and guests, to achieve desired performances.
  2. Technical Coordination:
    • Oversee the placement and movement of cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of graphics, effects, and transitions.
    • Manage on-air graphics, cue systems, and timing to ensure smooth broadcasts.
  3. Production Planning:
    • Participate in pre-production meetings to plan scenes, shots, and sequences.
    • Create shot lists, camera angles, and visual storyboards.
    • Ensure all production elements are aligned with the program’s goals and budget.
  4. Live and Pre-Recorded Broadcasts:
    • Direct live broadcasts, ensuring real-time decision-making to handle unexpected events.
    • Supervise the recording of programs, ensuring all scenes meet quality and continuity standards.
    • Provide clear cues and instructions to crew and cast during production.
  5. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with producers, writers, editors, and other key stakeholders to execute the program’s vision.
    • Lead rehearsals and provide feedback to improve performance and technical execution.
    • Foster a collaborative and professional working environment.
  6. Quality Control:
    • Ensure the final product meets creative and technical standards.
    • Review footage, provide input during editing, and approve final cuts for broadcast.
    • Maintain compliance with broadcasting regulations and organizational guidelines.
  7. Innovation and Problem-Solving:
    • Explore new technologies and techniques to enhance production quality.
    • Address and resolve any technical or creative challenges during production.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Broadcasting, or a related field.
    • Certifications in advanced directing or technical production are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in directing television programs, live shows, or similar productions.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing past projects.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities under pressure.
    • Strong technical knowledge of cameras, lighting, sound, and editing tools.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Avid, or similar tools).
