ROLE SUMMARY
Purpose
Coventry University Recruitment and Admissions Ltd (CURA) is building a new approach to student recruitment to achieve stretching student recruitment targets, while establishing strategies that build on Coventry University Group’s position as a dominant local, national and international recruiter. The post-holder owns recruitment targets for a designated market, usually defined as a geographical area or cluster of channels. This is a sales post that works to drive markets in pursuit of growth and diversification strategies, including direct recruitment, and management of the agent, schools, FE and HE networks. The post holder will advise future students and manage a network of stakeholders to increase demand whilst maximise conversion rates from applicant enquiries to enrolled students across the Coventry University Group.
The post works across the recruitment, conversion and admissions functions within CURA to drive the designated market in pursuit of ambitious local growth strategies, including direct interventions with a focus on agent management and partnership development. This position is a leadership role which incorporates team line management responsibility of Recruitment Manager(s) and acts as a key point of contact to represent their direct reports and the business areas for which they are responsible to their sales region’s broader leadership team. This includes supporting the development of sales plans, tactics and the sharing of market intelligence. The post holder is required to represent the Coventry University Group autonomously and will often be the face of the organisation in market.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. To deliver against student recruitment targets across the Coventry University Group for growth, diversification, and other recruitment KPIs including those related to customer engagement, productivity, and conversion.
2. To provide leadership and line management support to the respective Recruitment Manager(s) including coaching and sales skills development.
3. To create and develop agent networks and sales channels to drive growth in student recruitment in line with agreed targets across the Group.
4.To oversee the Recruitment Manager(s) development and management of their own agent networks and sales channels and address any performance gaps.
5. To undertake student recruitment activity, such as attending exhibitions and career conventions and presenting at schools and colleges to achieve or exceed against agreed KPI’s and annual student recruitment targets.
6. To lead on the delivery of allocated elements of regional strategies and business plans for designated territories and channels including overseeing and supporting the development of contributions from those of direct reports.
7. To collaborate with colleagues from the regional sales leadership and Sales Enablement teams to identify and address sales performance gaps.
8. To develop and extend links with educational institutions and other organisations appropriate to student recruitment.
9. To develop and extend relationships with High Commissions/Embassies/Overseas offices such as the British Council on a planned basis.
10. Tonsure a comprehensive information database about the market is available to the Group and undertake detailed investigations of potential student markets, providing written reports and recommendations as necessary.
11. To share data to support best practice for future recruitment cycles anticipating market trends and opportunities to gain competitor advantage and contribute to the development of the recruitment plans for regions for which you have responsibility.
12. To report on individual and team contribution to recruitment targets, annual projections and recommendations for improvements.
13. To effectively exploit the customer relationship management (CRM) system and other technology solutions to deliver ‘best in class’ approaches, techniques and philosophies which maximise conversions from initial enquiry to enrolled student.
14. To support the progression of and advise on applications and provide support to admissions and advisory teams within CURA.
15. To ensure that all promotional and publicity literature appertaining to student recruitment in the area of responsibility is as comprehensive and up to date as possible.
16. To represent CURA and the Coventry University Group at meetings, conferences and external events, as required including sometimes during evenings/weekends.
17. To undertake international travel as and when necessary in support of the work of CURA and achievement of regional recruitment targets.
Additionally, to provide supervision and support for colleagues travelling overseas. AND such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job role.
