Prepare, review and approve for all Yinson Production entities in Ghana, periodic statutory withholding taxes (WHT), Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), Value Added Tax (VAT), National Health Insurance Levy (NHIL), Ghana Education Trust Fund Levy (GETFL), COVID-19 Health Recovery Levy returns; annual Transfer Pricing (TP), PAYE and Company Income Tax (CIT) returns.
Ensure timely filing of tax returns, retain electronic copies of tax payment receipts and GRA-acknowledged copies of returns on record.
Assist to review intercompany agreements and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Prepare periodic reports (including monthly, quarterly and annually) for review and consolidation into management and board reports.
Follow up to resolve GRA queries in consultation with management and timeously escalate any unresolved issues, including follow-ups on VAT credit refunds.
Support with custom clearance efforts as may be required.
Obtain schedules, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports from Finance Teams and prepare reconciliation schedules as required during tax audits.
Assist during statutory and special tax audits by populating primary information requests and following up with finance teams in preparing additional information requests for review. Submit tax clearance certificates (TCC) requests and Tax Exemption applications as approved and follow up with GRA to ensure same is issued in a timely manner.
Obtain Tax GL information from GRA’s local office and ensure reconciliations between Yinson Production’s records and the Revenue Authority’s.
Assist to obtain tax rulings and confirmations from the AGT
Assist with in-house tax training.
Assist with correspondence with oil majors including their respective tax and finance teams.
Draft responses to stakeholder information requests for review and onward submission.
Maintain a healthy relationship with the primary external stakeholder offices (i.e., GRA offices, PC cost auditors, tax advisors, FS auditors) to promote a smooth process of engagement on tax matters.
Provide additional support in regional Africa tax and finance functions as directed.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or economics.
4-6 years’ experience in Taxation.
Chartered Accountant (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or any international equivalent) is desirable.
Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA, MCITG, or any international equivalent) is an added advantage.
Extractive sector experience is desirable.
IFRS knowledge is desirable.
Strong technical knowledge in the various tax laws in Ghana.
Ability to break down complex concepts into simple terms
