Quality Control Specialist – Garment Manufacturer
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the garment manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will ensure all garments meet the company’s quality standards and specifications, from raw materials to finished products. This role requires strong expertise in garment production processes, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection and Testing:
• Conduct thorough inspections at all stages of production, including raw materials, in-process checks, and final product evaluations.
• Test garments for durability, stitching quality, colorfastness, and overall compliance with design specifications.
2. Quality Assurance:
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and ensure adherence to company standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspection findings and provide reports to management.
• Ensure all products meet customer requirements and comply with industry regulations.
3. Defect Management:
• Identify and document defects or inconsistencies in materials and workmanship.
• Collaborate with the production team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide feedback to suppliers to improve raw material quality.
4. Process Improvement:
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Recommend process changes to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
5. Training and Support:
• Train production staff on quality control standards and techniques.
• Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Ensure proper documentation of all quality control activities, including detailed inspection reports.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure materials meet required specifications.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control within the garment or textile manufacturing industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, and production techniques.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection methods (e.g., AQL standards, ISO requirements).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with quality analysis tools is a plus.
Work Environment:
• This position operates in a manufacturing setting and requires regular inspections on the production floor.
• Occasional travel to suppliers or clients may be required.
