Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Strategy Development:
    • Design and implement effective procurement strategies to meet organizational needs.
    • Analyze market trends and forecasts to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Develop policies and procedures to streamline procurement processes.
  2. Vendor Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
    • Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing agreements to secure favorable deals.
    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and adherence to agreements.
  3. Sourcing and Purchasing:
    • Oversee the sourcing and selection of suppliers and service providers.
    • Ensure the timely purchase of goods and services to avoid operational disruptions.
    • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize waste.
  4. Cost and Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Monitor expenditures and identify areas for cost reduction.
    • Ensure alignment of procurement activities with financial goals.
  5. Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Assess and mitigate risks related to procurement activities.
    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
    • Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and reporting purposes.
  6. Team Leadership and Coordination:
    • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and support.
    • Coordinate with other departments to understand their procurement needs.
    • Promote a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  7. Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement activities.
    • Generate and present regular reports on procurement performance and cost savings.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
    • Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent knowledge of procurement software and tools.
    • Analytical skills for cost analysis, budgeting, and performance evaluation.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
