Your mission as a People Manager

As our part-time People Manager (reporting to the management team) you will be our in-house expert for anything People related at Enviu, helping us structure and build processes.

Essentially, you will be in charge of executing the People team strategy to support all teams across our offices.

Why is this role important?

We currently have ~50 people, based in Rotterdam, Nairobi, Bangalore, Jakarta and a few remote team members. The People manager will be our first People (HR) person, therefore, this role will be really instrumental in cultivating our company culture and People processes.

Core responsibilities

• Build, own and improve coherent People (HR) processes at Enviu (recruitment, onboarding, performance management and more). You are the expert and need to implement best practices into Enviu!
• Be the culture champion and drive a series of activities to ensure a coherent and distributed but clear and vibrant company culture!
• Grow our talents, building internal employee competency development framework and career growth plans.
• Retain our  talent through  employee engagement and employee satisfaction initiatives.
• Design a clear compensation and benefit policy and roll it out to all employees.
• Support country leads with their People priorities on an ad-hoc basis.
• Coordinate with the Office manager for all People administrative tasks: contracting, compliance, onboarding and offboarding or payroll management.
• Report to the Management team on the People department and top objectives.

Who we are looking for?

You’d be perfect for the role if you:

• Can work out of the Rotterdam office, are eligible to work in the Netherlands (EU citizen or valid work visa), are fluent in English and available 20-24 hours per week
• Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in business studies or MBA
• Have at least 5 years of experience in People / HR roles, equipped with best practices in various areas of the People role
• Have experience in a similar size organization, from 50 to 200 employees
• Can work autonomously whilst being a strong team player  
• Are ready to roll up your sleeves to get things done!
• Are able to think strategically about People-related organizational goals
• Have a successful track record in project management

 Big Bonus points for:

• Experience in the social impact & climate change sector
• Experience working at a scale-up organization
• Knowledge of- and experience in some of our markets (India, Kenya, Indonesia, Netherlands)
• Knowledge of Dutch employment law
• Great sense of humour!
