Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  1. Oversee the preparation and distribution of employee salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  2. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including adjustments for overtime, leave, or other variables.
  3. Verify payroll calculations to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Compliance and Regulation:

  1. Ensure payroll processes comply with local, state, and federal laws, including tax regulations and labor laws.
  2. Stay updated on changes to payroll-related legislation and implement necessary adjustments.
  3. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, reports, and payments as required.

System Management:

  1. Manage and maintain payroll systems and software.
  2. Implement upgrades or changes to payroll systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Ensure the security and confidentiality of payroll data.

Employee Support:

  1. Address employee inquiries about payroll, including salary discrepancies, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  2. Educate employees about payroll policies and procedures, including benefits and allowances.
  3. Resolve payroll-related disputes promptly and professionally.

Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Prepare detailed payroll reports for management, including wage costs, tax filings, and benefits expenses.
  2. Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, or cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Provide recommendations for improving payroll processes and financial management.

Team Management:

  1. Supervise and guide payroll staff, ensuring they meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
  2. Train team members on payroll procedures and updates to regulations.
  3. Monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll management or a related role.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) are an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software (e.g., ADP, SAP, QuickBooks, or Workday).
  • In-depth understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
