Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will develop and implement comprehensive data-driven approaches to track the project's progress and ensure implementation of best practices. The successful candidate will evaluate the project’s performance and make recommendations for improvement. The MEL Officer will also be expected to prepare regular reports for stakeholders, including funders, detailing project achievements and areas for development.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation or a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management,
  • ⁠Minimum of 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within an academic, research institution or on a development project. Experience with project implementation processes is an added advantage
  • ⁠Proven expertise in designing and implementing M&E frameworks, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency in data analysis and graphical software (Microsoft Power BI, Excel, SPSS, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
  • ⁠Excellent communication and reporting skills, with experience in writing detailed evaluation reports
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
