Responsibilities
MEAL Strategy and Implementation
Support the CP to identify and pursue strategic opportunities for program development, expansion, etc.
Support the CP to develop and implement a MEAL system establishing MEAL as a core competency for projects and CP growth
Program & Project MEAL System Designing
Lead in planning and implementation of MEAL systems for projects, ensuring alignment with WaterAid's PMER Core Procedures, MEAL System, MEAL policy and guidelines.
Oversee the integration and management of digital tools for data collection, ensuring smooth operation and alignment with the WaterAid’s Ghana’s ICT4MEAL strategy. Program & Project Monitoring
Hold regular project reflection meetings and data quality assessments and ensure effective use of monitoring data for adaptive management.
Ensure effective Post Implementation Monitoring Surveys to evaluate the sustainability of WASH projects. Project & Program Evaluations
Implement/execute project evaluations, ensuring the reliability of data and integrating community feedback into program/project improvements. MEAL Budgets and Human Resources
Support management of Project MEL budgets, ensuring resources effective allocation of resource for project MEAL activities.
Support the development of MEAL competencies within partners and communities providing training and coaching partner’s staff and community members. Accountability
Enhance community involvement in MEAL processes, ensuring that projects meet donor and organizational MEAL standards.
Leads the preparation of MEAL sections in donor reports and contribute to program result-based reporting.
Support preparation of program/Learning sections of PPR reports, half-yearly, and annual update, and support Global Performance Monitoring Framework reporting
Learning for Improving Program Quality
Support identification of opportunities for projects improvement based on MEAL findings.
Support the development and facilitation of MEAL capacity-building sessions for staff and partners, fostering a culture of learning.
Support the planning and implementation of CP Annual MEAL P
Essential skills
Degree in Development Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Research, Quantitative Analysis, or a closely related field.
At least 3 years of experience in MEAL, with a minimum of 3 years in a role within an NGO, preferably in an international context.
Proven track record of working with major donors such as USAID, UN, GAC, BMGF, showcasing adeptness in meeting diverse funding requirements.
Ability in drafting funding proposals and reports, with a clear articulation of project impacts in line with donor expectations.
Proficiency in modern MEAL technologies, including database management and statistical software like AI, Geographic Information Systems, SPSS, EPI-Info, Access, R and Excel.
Strong experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, with knowledge of sampling techniques to ensure data reliability and validity.
Demonstrated capacity in implementing MEAL, including the working of consultants.
Proven effectiveness in facilitating training and building the capacity of partners and community members.
Commitment to using innovative techniques and tools to drive MEAL effectiveness and efficiency.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with various partners to foster a supportive work environment.
