JOB DESCRIPTION


Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
•Spearhead the strategy to grow Telecel Cash’s market share and revenue.
•Lead the development and launch of innovative MFS products tailored to customer needs.
•Work with M-Pesa Group and other partners to implement best practices in product development.
•Ensure seamless integration of new fintech solutions to enhance service offerings for customers, merchants, and agents.
•Address regulatory and compliance challenges to accelerate product rollouts.
•Drive a relentless focus on customer feedback loops and performance analytics to refine platform capabilities and execution approaches.
•Support the resolution of regulatory blockers to drive regulatory approvals for product releases.
•Champion customer-centricity in product design to ensure alignment with market needs.
•Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to enhance Telecel Cash’s ecosystem.
•Work closely with internal teams to drive new revenue streams through fintech innovations.
•Oversee technical integrations with third-party platforms to expand service accessibility.
•Ensure the platform's capabilities are optimized to support market expansion.
•Work with technology teams to ensure platform capabilities are maximized for scalability.
•Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase awareness and adoption of Telecel Cash.
•Leverage customer insights and market research to enhance user engagement.
•Drive customer value management (CVM) initiatives to improve retention and lifetime value.
•Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure brand positioning aligns with business objectives.
•Manage media engagement and communication efforts to strengthen Telecel Cash’s reputation.
•Own the commercialization strategy for marketing, digital, and CVM, ensuring alignment with business development efforts.
•Develop targeted campaigns to drive adoption and engagement of MFS solutions across consumer and enterprise segments.
•Oversee the marketing analytics strategy to track campaign effectiveness and inform decision-making.
•Work with technical teams to maintain system performance, upgrades, and security.
•Lead compliance efforts with AML, regulatory, and security standards.
•Collaborate with legal and risk teams to ensure operational alignment with industry regulations.
•Work with back-office operations teams to ensure timely communication of planned service maintenance and outages.
•Oversee technical patches and system upgrades to prevent service downtimes.
•Build and lead a high-performing product and commercial team within MFS.


Core competencies, Knowledge and Experience
•Strong knowledge of mobile money, fintech, and financial services.
•Experience in MFS product development and strategic partnerships.
•Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the financial sector.
•Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Tech, Legal, Risk, Compliance).
•Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies for digital and financial services.
•Strong understanding of customer segmentation, CVM, and retention strategies.
•Experience in brand positioning, media engagement, and communication strategies.
•Knowledge of consumer insights and market research to drive product adoption.
•Experience in business development, revenue generation, and strategic partnerships.
•Strong negotiation skills.
•P&L and budget management experience in a commercial setting.
•Ability to identify new fintech revenue streams and growth opportunities.
•Experience using commercial and web analytics to measure marketing and product success.
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use data-driven decision-making.
•Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports.
•Experience in managing regulatory relationships and ensuring compliance


Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (master’s preferred).
•6+ years of experience in mobile financial services, fintech, or digital payments.
•Strong expertise in product management, commercial growth, and customer engagement.
•Proven track record in stakeholder management, negotiation, and strategic partnerships.
•Comfortable with analytics and data-driven decision-making to measure product performance.
