Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Assist customers with inquiries about medications, health products, and general wellness.
- Recommend suitable over-the-counter (OTC) medications based on symptoms and pharmacist guidance.
- Process transactions and handle payments for pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
Prescription Handling
- Receive and verify prescriptions before forwarding them to the pharmacist.
- Assist in preparing prescribed medications under the pharmacist’s supervision.
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medicines.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Organize and restock shelves with medications and healthcare products.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or expired medicines.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines according to safety regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of sales and prescriptions handled.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and safety protocols.
- Follow confidentiality and ethical standards in handling patient information.
Health & Safety Standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the medical counter and pharmacy area.
- Follow safety procedures when handling medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Dispose of expired or damaged products appropriately.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in pharmacy assistance is a plus.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail healthcare store, or customer service role is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of common medications and their uses.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in operating cash registers and inventory management systems.
