ROLE DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for ball mills and related components, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance.
Ensure adherence to best maintenance practices to minimize downtime and optimize plant availability.
Establish and enforce maintenance schedules and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Collaborate with Senior Maintenance Supervisors and Reliability Engineers to ensure coordinated execution of maintenance tasks.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for heavy mining equipment, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
Work closely with the maintenance planning team to ensure that maintenance activities are scheduled and executed in a manner that minimizes downtime and maximizes equipment availability.
Recommend and oversee the implementation of modifications, upgrades, or retrofits to enhance equipment performance and safety.
Condition Monitoring and Risk Management:
Implement condition monitoring programs for critical components in the milling circuit, utilizing techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
Analyze condition monitoring data to identify potential failures and take proactive measures to prevent unplanned downtime.
Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to develop and implement reliability improvement plans to enhance the performance and lifespan of the milling equipment.
Implement condition monitoring programs for critical components in the milling circuit, utilizing techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
Analyze condition monitoring data to identify potential failures and take proactive measures to prevent unplanned downtime.
Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to develop and implement reliability improvement plans to enhance the performance and lifespan of the milling equipment.
Training, Development and Continuous Improvement:
Provide technical training and mentorship to the maintenance team, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Develop and deliver training programs on best maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques, and condition monitoring.
Work closely with Senior Maintenance Supervisors to ensure effective training and development of the maintenance workforce.

Ensure all equipment maintenance and operational activities comply with company safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified risks or non-compliance issues.
Promote a culture of safety, actively participating in safety meetings and initiatives.

Contribute to the strategic planning and development of electrical infrastructure to support the company's growth and expansion.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, capacity expansion, and energy efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the integration of new technologies and innovations in power systems.
Report all SHE incidents.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in fixed plant maintenance, with a strong focus on ball mills, crushers, and related components in a gold processing plant.
Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Extensive experience in condition monitoring and reliability improvement programs.
Experience in managing maintenance projects and leading technical teams.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Professional certifications in maintenance, reliability engineering, or condition monitoring (e.g., CMRP, Vibration Analysis Level II or III) are highly desirable.
Sectional Engineer Certification by MinCom
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
Valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong technical skills in maintenance and troubleshooting of fixed plant equipment, particularly ball mills and crushers.
Proficiency in condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
Proficiency in developing and implementing maintenance strategies.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and train staff effectively
