Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supply Chain Management:
    • Oversee and manage the entire supply chain process, including procurement, transportation, storage, and distribution of goods.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
    • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize costs and efficiency.
  2. Procurement and Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is maintained to meet operational needs.
    • Prepare purchase orders and track the procurement process to ensure timely acquisition of supplies.
    • Conduct regular audits of inventory and maintain accurate records.
  3. Transportation and Fleet Management:
    • Plan and manage transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
    • Supervise the maintenance and operation of vehicles or equipment used for logistics purposes.
    • Optimize delivery routes and manage transportation costs.
  4. Warehouse Management:
    • Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of goods in warehouses.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and improve efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in warehouse operations.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to logistics operations, including shipping documents, invoices, and inventory records.
    • Generate and present reports on logistics activities, costs, and performance metrics to management.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure logistics operations comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
    • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
  7. Team Coordination:
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, finance, and operations, to align logistics activities with organizational objectives.
    • Provide training and guidance to logistics staff to enhance their skills and productivity.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze logistics processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in logistics management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with logistics software and tools is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Proficiency in inventory management and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or TMS).
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
