JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role you will:
- Provide trading coverage during pre-market hours to clients who are based in Global ex Africa timezones
- Prudently manage market risk from overnight trading ahead of the market open
- Support with Middle Office and Trading Assistant tasks throughout the day, reporting directly to the Head of Trading based in the UK
- Support with Payment Operations across our banking provider network to ensure our clients are settled in a timely manner
You’ll be responsible for:
- Assessing our overnight FX risk exposure that may have evolved since the market close from the previous day
- Adjusting automated client pricing to mitigate any unwanted risk exposures
- Sourcing liquidity where available to reduce market risk and realise revenue
- Handle clients relationships and demonstrate a willingness to build relationships
- Report to the Head of Trading on all overnight developments with a comprehensive handover
- Address any liquidity developments, working closely with the Middle Office team based in Kenya
- Long-term progression into a full-time trading role as we expand into new territories and FX corridors, particularly across Asia
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree, preferably in a quantitative or financial discipline
- 1-2 years experience in a front or middle office role within FX environment
- Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbal
- Understanding of African Frontier Deliverable FX Markets
- Understanding of Payments Infrastructure, preferably in a Fintech environment
