The EAWG2 Unit brings together professionals in financial management, taxation, public management, regulatory policy, transparency, and anticorruption to develop innovative, integrated solutions to pernicious institutional problems. The team utilizes a problem-driven, diagnostic approach, combining global comparative knowledge of reform successes and failures with keen understanding of the institutional challenges and opportunities of countries in the Western and Central Africa Region. The intern will work in the Ghana Country Management Unit which cover Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Serve as a key member of the Ghana CMU team in support of EAWG2’s work program.
* Provide research and analytical support on various work streams under the Ghana CMU PASA.
* Support the preparation of public sector outputs including conducting relevant analytical research and political economy analysis.
* Support the restructuring of the Public Financial Management for Service Delivery Program-- including in drafting results frameworks, Disbursement Linked Indicators, decision meeting notes,
* Support TTL in project (ASA and operations) implementation by actively: (a) participating in missions in Ghana and as necessary and (b) drafting Aide Memoires, Implementation Status Reports, and other reports in consultation with the Task Team Leader.
Selection Criteria
* Ongoing or earned master’s degree in public administration; Sociology; Political Science; Development Studies; Economics; or other relevant degrees.
* At least 4 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in the field of public policy, public administration, project management or any other relevant field.
* Knowledge of general governance issues including transparency and accountability; demand side governance; and political economy.
* Experience in research and analytical work in public management areas.
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
