Location: Several Locations available in the Western Region, Ghana

Designation Level: Functional Head

 

OBJECTIVE: The Human Resources Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of HR operations: talent acquisition and management, HRIS, employee relations, training & development, payroll, benefits & compensation, and administration.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


HUMAN RESOURCES (HR)

  • Keep job descriptions always updated.
  • Drive the interview process and select new hires when positions are vacant.
  • Prepare offer letters and employment / contract agreements for new hires.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation. Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Responsible for HR onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Work closely with the IT Team to ensure IT onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Keep records, maintain employee files always updated in the HRIS: employees benefit plans, health insurance, pension plans, and all personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, acting roles, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Administer salary, payroll, and benefits programs.
  • Administer leave programs (rotational schedules, sick leaves, casual leaves, maternity leaves, sabbatical leaves, etc.).
  • Investigate accidents and disciplinary issues, in conjunction with HSE and Legal & Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghana Immigration requirements (visa, work & residence permits) for all foreign nationals (external visitors, suppliers, and employees).
  • Oversee the management of Facilities (offices and guesthouses): lease agreements, technical / maintenance issues, cleaning services, etc.
  • Responsible for all administrative tasks (bookings, transportation logistics, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain HR policies plans and ensure all staff are trained regarding all HR Policies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, talent attraction, and effective payroll management.

 

PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS

  • Responsible for all Purchase and Service Order Agreements relating to all aspects of the HR activities.


FINANCE & COMPLIANCE

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly budget.
  • Develop and manage all budget items, including cost control and expenditure forecasting, related to all aspects of HR activities.
  • Ensure the budget is in line with the department’s scheduled activities.


ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Implement training and development program for staff in line with technical and business needs.
  • Develop and implement necessary measures to ensure flexible work practices and team building.
  • Carry out performance appraisals and development plans with subordinate staff.
  • Coordinate the rotational schedule (on and off duty) of the HR Team.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc in Business Administration, HR, or Psychology.
  • Master in Business or Management is a plus.
  • Multicultural experience is preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in Business Administration, HR, or Organizational Development.
  • Possess and demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of employee benefits and compensation programs, policy development, budgeting and payroll execution, and familiarity with the Ghana Labor Law.
