JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, demands, and opportunities in the anode material sector
- Analyze competitive landscape and customer needs to inform product development strategies
- Scout and analyze alternative technology trends (SSB, Na-Ion etc.), conduct literature research to stay updated with the latest advancements
- Product Development Planning:
- Lead the development of innovative anode materials, focusing on performance metrics such as energy density, cycle life, fast charging and safety
- Collaborate with R&D teams to translate market requirements into technical specifications and product designs
- Partnerships and Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and industry partners
- Work closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and scalability (post plant start-up
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, including chemistry and construction, and their impact on cell performance (energy density, fast charging, cycle life, safety)
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Credentials & Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in anode material development for lithium-ion batteries
- B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrochemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Proven track record of successful battery product and market development
- Experience with a leading battery maker or battery R&D company with a presence in Asia.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery materials supply chain players
