Flight Operations Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Competence (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

• Good command of both spoken and written English.
• Willing to work shift duties including public holidays.
• Proven ability in planning and prioritisation of tasks.
• Ability to understand and work within different cultures/environments.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
• Basic knowledge of operational messages and ATS flight plan handling.

Operational

• Inform all outstations when there are problems concerning flight operation.
• Send aircraft movement message, delay message and other messages.
• Assist the Flight Operations Officer with load control and preparation of flight plans.
• Provide NOTAM briefs as received from ATC unit to the operating crew on each flight.
• Retrieve flight plan folder from e-mail, print and deliver to operating crew.
• Provide weather document as received from local Met office to the operating crew on each flight.
• Recover flight documents from flight crew after flight, sort and file them in accordance with AWA filing procedures.       

IOSA and Other Audits

• Assist with relevant information to help close audit findings where required in Flight Dispatch.
• Conduct daily Flight Operations Centre equipment / facilities inspections to ensure equipment are serviceable.

Qualification and Experience

• A minimum of 1st degree from a recognized University or relevant professional qualification.
• GCAA Aircraft Dispatcher.
