JOB DESCRIPTION


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Primary Responsibilities

  • To set up a clear and coherent marketing plan for FI activities.
  • To set up an aggressive calling plan across existing & potential clients.
  • Pricing and quoting available instruments for profitable selling to clients and to ensure that the bank is positioned as a market maker in these instruments.
  • Spearheading the launching of new customized flexible products and solutions in more structured products.
  • Expanding our current product offerings beyond spot FI transactions to include derivatives to meet existing & new clients’ needs.
  • Engage clients to keep them informed on market information.
  • Work with the Management and Risk teams to ensure that any expansion aligns with our risk appetite and broader strategic goals.
  • To work with the Trading team to ensure broad range of products to clients.
  • Provide inputs to the preparation of Sales unit budget.
  • To monitor business performance on an ongoing basis vis-å-vis budget and take proactive measures to achieve it.
  • To ensure that necessary steps are taken to address regulatory and internal control guidelines.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Meet Fixed income Sales budget.
  • Assist in meeting the FX Sales budget.

COMPLIANCE TO BANK'S AND LOCAL REGULATIONS

  • To ensure complete adherence to all ECOBANK’s compliance and regulatory requirements.        To maintain high standards in terms of compliance and internal process ensuring complete adequacy to Audit requirements. 
  • To maintain good relationship with regulators.
  • To keep abreast of the changes in the business and regulatory environment. 
  • To ensure adherence to proper conduct and professional behaviour.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • In depth knowledge of the FI products.
  • Should be fully conversant with all operational aspects of the Treasury department.
  • Ability to work in as a team player.
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take quick decisions, ability of being reactive.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. 
  • Mathematics and computer skills are required.
  • Confident 
  • Intuitive 

COMPLEXITY AND JUDGEMENT

  • Should be able to react quickly to any opportunity and take immediate steps to convert it into deals.
  • Should be able to advise the Head —Sales on an ongoing basis about market conditions and trends so that appropriate strategies are put in place.
  • Freedom of decision making. Should be able to fully operate within trading and counterparty limits put in place.
  • Should be able to adjust trading margins quoted with the objective of securing the overall business.
  • Multi-cultural and diverse people environment.

QUALIFICATION 

  • Education  
  • MBA, Accounting or Finance Option
