Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Develop and oversee the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk effectively to ensure operational stability.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Strategic Planning and Analysis
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models and analyses to evaluate business opportunities and investment decisions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend strategies to improve profitability.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the finance team (where applicable), fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/ACCA qualification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in dynamic, fast-growing organisations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial analysis, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Xero, Excel, or ERP systems).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
