JOB DESCRIPTIONS
The role supports implementing and maintaining environmental management systems within ARL operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and sustainability goals. It focuses on monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and promoting continuous improvement to minimize environmental impacts and support sustainable operational practices.
Key duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assist with implementing environmental management systems to comply with regulatory requirements consistent with Ghanaian mining regulations.
- Assist with implementing Environmental Management Systems consistent with ARL standards and procedures.
- Update related environmental procedures, submit for approval, and ensure compliance
- Conduct environmental training and awareness programs at ARL and maintain training records.
- Investigate and document environmental incidents and track corrective actions and the effectiveness of controls.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls and closeout reports.
- Assist with waste management practices and data collection, ensuring waste is handled and disposed of per Ghanaian mining regulations and EMS guidelines.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments.
Required Qualification & Experience
• First degree in Environmental Science, Safety, and Environmental Engineering or related fields.
• 1-3 years in an Environmental role. • Knowledge of ARL Environmental Aspects and Impacts.
• Knowledge of ARL Environmental Management System Procedures.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations in the Ghanaian mining industry
Required Competencies
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good data and time management skills.
• Good organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication and Problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a critical thinker.
• Must have knowledge in inspections and auditing.
