Qualifications and Requirements
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Knowledge of Cummins engines would be an advantage.
Knowledge of Cummins power generating sets would be an advantage.
Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans using specialized tools and diagnostic software to isolate and repair failed components accurately.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the interactions between various engine systems (electrical, mechanical, exhaust, heating, cooling, etc.) and the ability to interpret service publications and measurements for efficient diagnosis and repair.
Repair and Maintenance Expertise: Proficiency in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines and using the required tools to ensure quality repairs and minimize customer costs.
Effective Escalation and Documentation: Skill in escalating technical issues appropriately, utilizing data management tools, and thoroughly documenting troubleshooting steps to ensure seamless transitions and timely resolution of customer issues.
