About the Role

The Distribution Lead is responsible for the management of all physical flows (raw & packs, pallets, jumbos, finished products) including traceability for the designated area, inbound to the warehouse and outbound distribution to the customer, i.e. all processes relevant to the movement of materials from the supplier, through to the delivery to the customer-Proof of Delivery. This role ensures accountability to our clients, and governmental guidelines related to Safety, Quality and Compliance while securing working conditions and ensuring all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.



Main Responsibilities;

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including the receipt, storage, retrieval and dispatch of goods.

  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity.

  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory management systems and physical inventory counts.

  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy. 

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory control and reduce excess stock.

  • Coordinate with the sales team to manage inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment to meet customer expectations. 

  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments and deliveries. 

  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations. 

  • Utilize lean warehousing techniques to streamline processes and eliminate waste. 

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure and or provide the resources needed for product conformity(in terms of compliance, product protection and maintenance of condition) within the entire supply chain. 

  • Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.

  • Develop and enforce safety procedures to minimize accidents and injuries. 

  • Maintain appropriate safety protocols for all staff and equipment in your area of work. 

  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed. 
  • Communicate proactively with sales when supply execution issues are experienced to manage customer expectations

  •  Empowers subordinates by way of training, information sharing, feedback, appraisals and delegation to ensure the development of people and organizational capabilities. 

  • Manages the people, materials, equipment and logistics processes to deliver site performance objectives, as measured by corporate and local KPIs.

  • Maintain Good Housekeeping Practices.

  • Provide efficient support for our 3PL service providers through contract follow up, KPIs and performance animation. 



Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain management with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.

  • 3 years inventory control, storeroom or warehouse experience.

  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management software. 

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. 

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently with high levels of integrity.

  • Self-motivated; takes initiative, accountability & responsibility for own work.

  • Proven team player with good interpersonal skills and able to work in a collaborative work environment.

  • Flexible and adaptable with ideas, when changes occur within the plans and / or work environment.

  • Customer Service Skills.

  • Ability to put together warehousing and distribution budgets and being fully accountable and responsible for managing the budgets.

  • Ability to multitask while achieving goals, results oriented.

  • 3PL management.

  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations.

  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license.

  • May require the ability to obtain fork lift operator certification.
