Key Responsibilities
Prescription Processing & Dispensing
- Assist in receiving, interpreting, and preparing prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accurately dispense medications, ensuring correct dosage and labeling.
- Verify patient details and medication history to prevent errors.
- Provide information to patients on how to take prescribed medications correctly.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain and update stock records for medicines and medical supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs according to regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
Customer Service & Patient Support
- Address customer inquiries regarding over-the-counter medications.
- Provide basic advice on medication use, side effects, and storage.
- Refer patients to the pharmacist for complex medical queries.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and dispensing activities.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
- Assist in preparing reports and audits related to pharmaceutical operations.
Health & Safety Standards
- Adhere to hygiene and safety procedures when handling medications.
- Ensure proper disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dispensing and stock handling.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technology, Dispensing Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and drug classifications.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.
