JOB DESCRIPTIONS


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement  Newmont’s Social Performance Standards related to stakeholder relationship management, community development, human rights, Indigenous Peoples, and social aspects related to the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
  • Ensure cross-functional implementation of social performance related programs to address identified risks including local employment, local procurement, human rights, cultural heritage, community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of comprehensive community engagement activities to strengthen community relationships and build connections, while ensuring our operations meet expected standards and continue to perform.
  • Deliver required reporting, compliance, assurance and governance activities associated with social performance.
  • Develop and implement the site community investment and development programs aligned with Newmont frameworks, informed by local community needs and priorities.
  • Monitor social performance events, trends, risks, and performance to identify gaps and develop action plans to drive improvement.
  • Foster effective partnerships with local communities, governments and other stakeholders, building sustainable processes for enduring relationships that support Cadia’s operational continuity and growth.
  • Collaborate with site leaders to achieve social performance targets and identify and mitigate issues that could impact the community, operational performance and project approvals.
  • Lead a high-performing social performance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Social Performance or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within the mining industry
  • Demonstrated experience in oversight of participatory monitoring programs in local communities
  • Demonstrated experience in external engagement programs with communities, external bodies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Understanding of consultation processes to support permitting and approvals in an Australian context.
  • High level understanding and experience of ESG reporting and governance requirements.
