Job Description


Reporting to the General Manager, the Commercial and Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s entire sales and marketing strategy, ensuring optimal positioning, revenue growth, and brand visibility.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Mastering market segments and distribution channels to maximize revenue.
  • Overseeing key account management across all target feeder markets.
  • Assisting the sales team in securing business for all revenue-generating centers, including rooms, dining, spa, and events.
  • Analyzing monthly account production with the sales team to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Supervising the negotiation and execution of global contracts.
  • Prospecting the market to develop new high-value accounts and nurture existing ones.
  • Representing the hotel at international industry conventions and local tourism and hospitality association meetings to strengthen the hotel’s market presence.
  • Defining strategic objectives for the sales team and monitoring their performance.
  • Leading talent development within the team: identifying training needs, organizing development programs, and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Managing the full spectrum of HR functions within the department, including hiring, performance evaluations, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensuring exceptional standards of professionalism, hygiene, and brand image within the team.
  • Establishing and monitoring departmental budgets to ensure profitability.
  • In collaboration with the General Manager, developing and executing pricing strategies for all market segments.
  • Working with the Reservations Manager to implement a Yield Management strategy to optimize revenue.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Sales, Groups Manager, and Reservations Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive Groups and Events strategy.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned to enhance the hotel's commercial success.


Marketing responsibilities

  • Developing and executing an integrated marketing strategy aligned with Fairmont’s brand positioning and the unique identity of Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech.
  • Overseeing content creation, brand storytelling, and digital presence, ensuring a high-end and aspirational image in all communication channels.
  • Supervising public relations and media strategies, maintaining strong partnerships with luxury travel publications, influencers, and industry leaders.
  • Overseeing digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, paid advertising campaigns, and social media engagement to enhance visibility and direct bookings.
  • Ensuring a seamless and sophisticated customer journey across all touchpoints, from online interactions to in-hotel experiences.
  • Managing collaborations with high-end brands, tourism boards, and luxury lifestyle partners to reinforce the hotel’s prestige.
  • Defining loyalty and engagement strategies to attract and retain elite clientele.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitors, and guest insights to adjust marketing strategies proactively.
  • Aligning marketing efforts with sales initiatives, ensuring synergy between revenue generation and brand awareness.
  • Leading high-profile events, sponsorships, and activations that reinforce the hotel's status as a leading luxury destination.
  • Maintaining Fairmont’s brand integrity and high aesthetic standards in all marketing materials.


Qualifications :

  • Extensive experience in both sales and marketing in luxury hospitality.
  • A university degree in business, marketing, or hospitality management is preferred.
  • Proven leadership in managing commercial strategies, key accounts, and high-end marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage key stakeholders and high-profile clients.
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset to drive revenue growth and brand positioning.
  • High adaptability and decision-making skills in a fast-paced luxury environment.
  • Experience in digital marketing, PR, and branding strategies is a strong advantage.
  • A deep understanding of luxury guest expectations and the ability to craft exclusive experiences.
