JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently deliver products, goods, or materials to customers according to scheduled routes and delivery instructions.
- Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner and in line with customer expectations.
- Handle the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that items are delivered in the same condition as when they were dispatched.
- Collect goods, returns, or items from designated locations as instructed.
- Ensure proper documentation of all collected items, including obtaining signatures where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of collections and deliveries, including any issues or discrepancies.
- Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner while delivering or collecting goods.
- Address any customer inquiries or issues on-site, escalating when necessary.
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with the service and provide any required assistance during delivery or collection.
- Ensure the delivery vehicle is clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after use, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Comply with all road safety and driving regulations while on the road.
- Follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Utilize GPS and route planning tools to minimize delays and optimize travel time.
- Be adaptable to changes in the route or schedule, depending on traffic, customer needs, or other factors.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license (appropriate for the vehicle being driven).
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably in a customer-facing position.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Ability to lift and carry goods of varying weights, depending on the nature of the delivery.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
