Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, CMS, OSHA, FDA, and other relevant laws, ensuring the hospital remains compliant with healthcare industry standards.
Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of policies and procedures that comply with regulatory and legal standards.
Auditing and Monitoring: Conduct regular audits and assessments of hospital practices, procedures, and documentation to identify potential compliance risks.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver compliance training for staff and healthcare providers on regulatory updates, ethical standards, and risk management practices.
Investigations: Lead investigations of potential compliance violations, report findings to senior management, and recommend corrective actions.
Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to management, including updates on compliance status, risks, and any corrective actions taken.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to non-compliance, and work with the legal team to mitigate any risks associated with medical practice, patient safety, and confidentiality.
Collaboration: Work with various departments to ensure that compliance issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law; required.
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare compliance role, preferably within a hospital or medical facility.
Experience with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS, OSHA, etc.) and auditing.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Certifications:
Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) through the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) or similar compliance certification.
Certification in HIPAA Compliance preferred.
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
Certification in Health Care Privacy and Security (CHPS) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy (CHP).
