Media strategy: Execute the team’s media strategy through pitching stories about climate change, its impacts, climate policy, the energy transition and more to the media in Norway and Denmark.
Storytelling: Develop compelling narratives and storylines to proactively drive media coverage and public conversations around climate solutions and energy transition in the region.
Capacity building: Identify and train new voices and partners across the region and support them in executing media strategies.
International collaboration: Work with colleagues in GSCC and with partner organizations to develop media packs with strategically important events and developments from the Nordic region to the rest of the world.
Content creation: Develop a wide range of content such as press releases, press briefings, social media posts, OpEds, and communication support during events.
Event Planning and Coordination: Organise and provide on-site support for events such as press conferences, media briefings, partner workshops, ensuring seamless execution.
Media monitoring: Monitor impact and outcomes and contribute to drawing conclusions and recommendations to improve our activities and strategies.
Relations: Seek out key journalists, editors and influencers in the climate and sustainability sectors to build and maintain strong relationships with them.
Polling and surveys: Use polling and surveys to inform messaging and identify target groups effectively.
Strategic insight: Follow the public debates in Norway and Denmark to identify where strategic communications can be usefully deployed in order to speed up the net-zero transition.
REQUIREMENTS
Professional experience in communications, PR or journalism, ideally with a track record of handling media relations in Denmark and/or Norway.
A demonstrated ability to analyze public, political, and media debates to identify opportunities for impactful strategic communications.
A track record of setting and achieving measurable goals in communications or media outreach, including monitoring and reporting on outcomes
An enthusiasm to embrace complex, technical topics and transform complicated substance into compelling narratives about the urgency and necessity of swift and ambitious climate action.
A genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change.
The disposition to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers.
The versatile and adaptable skills necessary to flourish in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment and work across time zones using tools such as Zoom, Slack and email (Google Workspace).
Fluency in written and spoken English, our working language as well as either Norwegian or Danish, a prerequisite for local media work.
