JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with TechnoServe’s data lifecycle & backend systems functionality.
- Assist Senior Data Engineer with supporting backend systems integrations.
- Create/maintain relevant systems documentation.
- Design and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures based on Google Cloud Platform best practices.
- Implement security measures, such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and firewall configurations to ensure data protection.
- Develop AI Solutions using Vertex AI in Google Cloud Platform.
- Write and maintain REST APIs integrations in Google Cloud Platform.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Global ICT
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar) with 5 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience. Years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly; highly organized with attention to detail; excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Required Languages: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including fluency in English language.
Travel: Travel up to 25%
Desired Technical Experience:
- Knowledge of microservices, serverless computing, and distributed systems.
- Basic understanding of Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Big Query, Vertex AI and Cloud Storage.
- Experience in designing and managing databases, data warehouses, and ETL in Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript for automating tasks and manipulating data.
- Basic understanding of application/software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Google Cloud Certified – Cloud Digital Leader
