JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain cloud environments utilizing primarily Azure but including other Cloud Providers
- Line manage the other members of the Cloud Architecture Group (1-2 people)
- Monitor systems and make sure they are running as expected; troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise
- Document procedures and share important information with team members regarding setting up, configuring systems and overcoming issues that arise
- Liaise with user groups and set up new servers and upgrades as required either in the on premise or cloud environments
- Carry out operating system upgrades working alongside user groups
- Respond and carry out support requests for staff and students coming in via helpdesk ticketing system
Education, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Educated to first degree level, relevant professional certification or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
- Minimum of 3 years experience designing, implementing and managing Cloud Environments, ideally in a Microsoft Azure environment
- A minimum of 3 years experience working with server and virtualization technologies
- Experience of working with firewalls and networking technologies, especially in a Microsoft Azure environment
- Ability to write documentation and user guides in a clear, concise format that is understandable by both technical staff and end users
- Excellent level of IT literacy and comfortable working with professionals in other specialisms
- Good track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external customers, peers, stakeholders and others
- Proven ability to solve technical or logistical problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
