Business Intelligence Analyst

Bachelors degree in computer science 

2-3 years working experience 

Educational Background:

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., in data science, analytics, or business intelligence) are advantageous.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in BI tools and software such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems like SQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with data visualization techniques and dashboard creation.

Analytical and Statistical Skills:

• Ability to analyze large sets of data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Understanding of statistical methods and how to apply them to data analysis.
• Comfort with data modeling and performing advanced analysis like regression or forecasting.

Business Acumen:

• Understanding of business operations and strategy, to ensure that BI reports and insights align with company objectives.
• Ability to translate business questions and objectives into actionable data analyses.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify data issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvements.

Attention to Detail:

• Ability to manage large datasets with precision, ensuring accuracy and reliability of BI reports.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to create reports and dashboards that are user-friendly and convey insights effectively.

Experience:

• Prior experience in business analysis, data analysis, or BI roles is typically required. Experience with financial analysis, market research, or performance metrics is often a plus.

Project Management Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.

Adaptability:

• Staying up-to-date with new BI tools, technologies, and industry trends to improve analysis and reporting capabilities.
