Job Summary

The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving Nolux’s revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and ensuring the company’s services are effectively marketed and sold. The BDO will manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to client acquisition, while also working closely with the CEO and head of sales and business development to align the business development strategy with Nolux’s broader goals.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Business Development and Sales Strategy
  • Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and engage with potential clients, including corporate entities, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and public sector organizations. Build a robust sales pipeline to drive consistent revenue growth.
  • Sales Pitch and Presentations: Develop and deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations tailored to the needs of prospective clients. Present Nolux’s services as solutions to client pain points, including recruitment, HR consulting, and staffing services.
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Secure new clients through effective communication, contract negotiation, and long-term relationship building. Ensure high client retention by providing excellent service and understanding client needs.
  • Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets by successfully closing deals and maintaining a focus on both short- and long-term revenue growth.
  1. Market Research and Strategic Planning
  • Market Analysis: Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to identify new business opportunities. Develop insights and strategies to keep Nolux ahead of industry changes and competition.
  • Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and refine Nolux’s business development strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Assist in the formulation of short-term and long-term sales goals.
  • Client Segmentation: Identify and prioritize key market segments for business expansion, ensuring that Nolux’s services are tailored to specific industries and client types.
  1. Relationship Management and Partnerships
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture partnerships with corporate clients, industry stakeholders, and external collaborators to expand Nolux’s business ecosystem.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars (virtually or in-person) to expand Nolux’s network and gain industry insights. Use networking opportunities to generate business leads.
  • Client Relationship Management (CRM): Maintain accurate records of client interactions, deals, and communication through Nolux’s CRM system. Ensure timely follow-ups and communication with prospects and existing clients.

 

  1. Financial Planning and Reporting
  • Revenue Forecasting: Work with the CEO to develop revenue forecasts and contribute to the company’s financial planning. Assist in budgeting and ensure that sales and marketing activities are aligned with revenue targets.
  • Sales Reports: Generate regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, client feedback, and other key metrics. Present these reports to the CEO and discuss potential areas of improvement.
  1. Team Development and Mentorship
  • Support Future Hiring: As the company expands, assist in recruiting and training new team members in the business development function. Set the foundation for future business development staff.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to any junior staff or interns, helping them understand the business development process and contributing to a collaborative work culture.
  1. Hybrid Work Responsibilities
  • Remote Work Coordination: Maintain effective communication with the CEO and other team members when working remotely. Ensure that remote work does not affect performance, and proactively schedule meetings or client engagements as needed.
  • Office Presence: Attend in-person meetings, client pitches, and strategic discussions at the office as required, balancing remote work with the necessity of being present when needed.
  1. Miscellaneous
As and when required to support and carry out any other tasks and responsibility that may arise occasionally in line with the service delivery
