ROLE DESCRIPTION
As the Business Development Manager, you will lead the business development team in driving the company’s growth by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities. You will be responsible for formulating and executing strategic initiatives to expand the client base, increase revenue, and strengthen client relationships. Your role will involve overseeing business development activities, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and mentoring the business development team to achieve organizational goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Business Growth
• Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic partnerships.
• Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats, adjusting business strategies accordingly.
• Continuously identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in business development operations.
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development team to ensure performance targets are met.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Marketing, and IT, to align business development initiatives with company objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate sales performance by tracking KPIs, analyzing sales reports, and providing data-driven insights to senior management.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to foster long-term business growth.
• Develop and implement effective client acquisition and retention strategies to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
• Drive negotiations and close high-value deals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
Sales & Marketing Execution
• Oversee the development and execution of sales plans, presentations, and proposals tailored to prospective clients.
• Oversee marketing initiatives and campaigns to support sales objectives, ensuring effective lead generation and conversion strategies.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and build strategic alliances.
Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all business development and sales activities.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports to the Managing Director on business growth, challenges, and potential opportunities.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Education
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• A professional certification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Experience
• A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience in related role.
• Experience in pension management, retirement planning, or investment services is highly desirable
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Deep understanding of pension products, financial planning, and investment principles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Software (Ultra)
