About VKAV

Verod-Kepple Africa Ventures (VKAV)  is the first fund by Verod-Kepple Africa Partners, a joint venture between Verod Capital Management Limited and Kepple Africa Ventures. Launched in 2021, VKAV is a US$60 million pan-African venture fund investing in scalable, tech-enabled, post-revenue businesses bringing about transformative change by addressing difficult challenges across various industries on the continent.

Our portfolio companies currently consist of Moove, NowPay, Koko Networks, Ceviant, Chari, Shuttlers, Nawy, Julaya, Chefaa, Cloudline, mTek, Zone, Tagaddod, WorkPay and Autochek. We are supported by a diverse group of prominent global institutional investors and family offices with extensive experience in investing in emerging markets. 

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our investment team as an Associate. 

As part of our entrepreneurial team, you will be deeply involved in the entire life cycle of our activities, spanning from pre-investment to post-investment stages, aimed at delivering sustainable value creation and impactful outcomes for the companies we back. 

You are expected to have a high level of autonomous drive and entrepreneurial spirit (can-do attitude), think and act as an owner, relentlessly drive a culture in which excellence is valued, and to represent VKAV brand at international events and forums with highest standards of integrity. In addition, we expect you to have a strong understanding of the African ecosystem, and to possess the ability to connect Africa’s growth opportunities with global markets and contextualize trends in venture capital in Africa in the fast-changing global economic landscape.

• Masters key technical skills: Proficient in financial modeling, valuation analysis, cap table simulations, and have a foundational understanding of legal terms. You also possess an exceptional attention to detail.
• Industry experience: 2-3 years of prior experience in the financial services industry (investment banking, private equity, venture capital), with a proven track record in contributing to both pre- and post-investment activities.
• Startup Experience: Prior experience as an operator in a fast-growing startup is a plus.
• This role will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, with the opportunity to travel.
