Scope
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounts team, reconciling bank statements and employee expenditures, preparing and examining financial records and generating financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
- Reconcile and complete analysis of the employee expenditures.
- Manage income and expenditure accounts.
- Generate the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data.
- Monitor and check the company’s finances based on financial status.
- File and remit taxes and other financial obligations.
- Initiate and manage the company's financial and accounting software.
- Oversee Accounts team and present monthly financial reports to Directors.
- Work hand-in-hand with MD and provide timely and relevant financial interventions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration – Finance or Accounting or any related field of study.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role or its equivalent.
- Certification in ACCA, CPA or Certified Financial Analyst and relevant experience in a management role is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) pertaining to Ghana.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks etc
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to draw up budgets based on income and expenditure accounts.
- Experience in general ledger function and internal and external auditing.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite such as Excel, Word etc
