JOB DESCRIPTION


 Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and selection.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires, ensuring they are properly introduced to company policies, culture, and their respective teams.

Employee Relations:

  • Maintain open lines of communication and serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Address employee performance issues, conflicts, and other HR matters in accordance with company policies and with leadership input and guidance.
  • Develop programs to enhance employee engagement and morale.
  • Identify training needs and organize training sessions for employee skill development and leadership growth.
  • Assist in creating professional development programs and support career pathing for employees.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager and leadership to administer employee benefits programs (health, pension, learning and development, etc.,, etc.), ensuring employees understand and access the benefits available.

Performance Management:

  • Design and launch a new, revamped MEST-centric performance management process and system, company-wide
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process, ensuring feedback is given and development plans are set.
  • Support managers in conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Provide salary-raises guidance to leadership based on performance and salary bands.
  • As needed, conduct salary reviews and ensure competitive pay structures aligned with market trends.

Employee Engagement and Culture:

  • Work with leadership to build and operationalize culture-building initiatives that align with company values.
  • Foster a strong company culture by supporting and promoting core company values.
  • Organize employee events and activities to maintain a positive work environment.

Compliance and Legal:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and legal requirements.

HR Administration:

  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative tasks, such as maintaining employee files, preparing HR reports, and tracking time off.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company culture and business needs.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote and enforce workplace safety practices.
  • Work with relevant departments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.


Skills & Requirements

  • 7+ years deep and committed experience in Human Resources management and operations
  • Strong knowledge of Ghanaian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience building and launching new HR-related processes, policies, and systems.
  • Experience with recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training.
  • Self-starter passionate about his/her work with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized company environment.
  • HR experience with startup ecosystems, accelerators, grassroots organisations and development agencies
  • HR experience in technology, innovation, international development and/or the public sector is a plus
  • Master's degree in business or human resources
  • Interested in the Ghana and wider African tech, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem
