JOB DESCRIPTION


In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • To manage the designated area ensuring good sales growth in line with the agreed plan. 
  • Where necessary, to take actions to improve performance, efficiency, and development of the product portfolio.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships to aid incremental sales growth.
  • Assist in negotiations, help to bring key projects to fruition, ensure strategic focus is given to initiatives as they are introduced and developed.
  • Ensure follow up of sales leads and react accordingly.
  • Organize strategic sales plans for the designated territory, ensuring alignment with the broader UK, Ireland and North Europe plans.
  • Provide monthly overall territory sales report (verbal updates are preferred) as detailed by UK & Ireland Sales Manager. Ensure any other required individual reports that may be required are submitted on time and relevant detail included and succinct.
  • Negotiate price increases as is periodically required by the company, working closely with the UK & Ireland Team and any matrix reports.
  • Manage all sales legal requirements, ensure the customers are aligned with trade compliance rules, contractual obligations and always uphold Emerson ethics policy.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Strive to meet and exceed individual, company, and personal targets, including financial margins.
  • Develop new business within existing accounts and expand selected key target accounts.
  • Build and manage a sales opportunity funnel to achieve a high quote-to-win ratio.
  • Update and manage the company Salesforce CRM as required.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospects, converting them into valuable customers and key accounts.
  • Support UK sales growth for Discrete Automation business unit as needed.
  • Apply internal resources such as technical sales, internal sales, and customer service to improve efficiency.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations to drive sales growth.
  • Handle follow-up tasks such as technical proposals, quotations, contract negotiation, and post-sales support.
  • Undertake training for personal and professional development.
  • Overnight stays and days away from home may be necessary, and occasional overseas trips may also be required.
     

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  •  Engineering Degree or equivalent experience, or other proven experience/qualifications
  •  Relevant industry experience within UK is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to empower, with a proven track record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Direct and interactive computer skills and electronic business interfaces.
  •  Computer competency, especially knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Power Point, etc.)
  • Proactive and high-energy style.
